Man-elephant conflict has raised its ugly head in Assam yet again. An elephant herd has been creating havoc in the region near the India-Bhutan border.

Two people yesterday lost their lives after being trampled to death by the marauding elephants, while leaving one person injured.

The elephant herd has also damaged several houses in the region while forcing people to flee from their homes.

The elephants take shelter in nearby tea gardens and then come out in the night causing mayhem in the area.
