Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Monday appealed on the floor of the House to let the fact finding committee probe into the allegations against Manipur University vice chancellor A P Pandey.

The Manipur Chief Minister made the appeal while responding to the calling attention motion moved by K. Govindas and K. Ranjit Singh on the education minister. He also reiterated that the incumbent vice chancellor of the university will be asked to take leave so that the investigation can start at the earliest.

The chief minister also invited the opposition bench members to participate in the meeting later in the evening with Manipur University Students’ Union (MUSU) and Manipur University Teachers’ Association which as per latest reports, the MUTA refused to attend.
