India proudly celebrates its 72nd Independence Day today, celebrations can be seen all across the nation with much fervor and gaiety.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation at the Red Fort a short while ago where he greeted and wished the nation on this special occasion.
The Prime Minister, while addressing the gathering lauded Northeast for being an inspiration for the entire country, especially in the sports arena.
He further appreciated the developments in the northeastern region in various sectors like Highways, railways, airways and waterways.
Modi also said that violence in Northeast has come to an end with AFSPA being repealed from Meghalaya and Tripura.
Modi spoke on the Digital India scheme which has been catered to more than 3 lakh villanges in India now. The Prime Minister further in his speech lauded the daughters of India.
He praised the martyred soldiers of India who sacrificed their lives shielding the country.
Prime Minister Modi also announced Ayushman Bharat Scheme today under which every household will get a medical cover of Rs 5 lakh.
He added that the scheme is technology driven and on this auspicious occasion of Independence Day, the testing of the said technology will begin in different parts of the country.
