Political rivalry between the ruling BJP and the opposition CPI-M continues to churn out violence in Tripura.
In a latest incident, a man was murdered in North Tripura district’s Roya area. The deceased has been identified as Abdul Kader and has been claimed to be a CPI-M party worker.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested a person in connection with the murder.
Talking on the matter was CPI-M Tripura state secretary Bijan Dhar who said that a local BJP worker named Swapan Nath was behind the murder.
The CPI-M is sending a team to Roya tomorrow to take stock of the situation and talk to locals there.
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Rajib Bhattacharjee condemned the killing and asserted that none of the party cadres were involved in the murder.
He also added that the murder had taken place due to an issue of land dispute.
